A short NBA Finals, and perhaps a lengthy rivalry

Posted: 1:33 PM Jun 22, 2012

His championship chase finally complete, LeBron James shared a long embrace with Kevin Durant, his workout partner last summer and his Olympic teammate in a few weeks.

It probably wasn't the last time they will be together in the NBA Finals.

The Miami Heat were too good for the Oklahoma City Thunder this time, winning the series in five games to give James his first title. He had 26 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists in the clincher, a 121-106 rout Thursday night.

With James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh on one side, and Durant and a young core on the other, the Heat and Thunder are likely to be back here again.

James says: "This won't be the last time we see them in the finals."
