Democratic presidential candidate Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton joined our own Lisanne Anderson via satellite this morning on First News AM.
On her health care initiative….
“I’ve done a lot of work on rural health care, starting in Arkansas all those years ago, and what I’m going to do is provide quality, affordable health care to every single person in America.”
“I’m going to take my record of bringing health care to rural Arkansas and rural New York, and we’re going to bring it to Sherman and rural Texas.”
On the war in Iraq….
“It’s going to take a president who is will start bringing them home within 60 days, which is what I’ve pledged to do. I think it’s one of the reasons why I won Oklahoma overwhelmingly. Oklahomans, like north central Texans, are patriotic people, lots of folks who are in the service or have been in the service. You’ve done everything you were asked to do. You’ve performed admirably, heroically. We’ve lost too many of our sons and daughters, but there is no military solution, it is up to the Iraqis, and the sooner we make them responsible, the better off they will be.”
On 'Get Out the Vote'...
“I feel good about the campaign. We’ve got people working across Texas. Everybody does have to get out, and it’s a two-step process. You’ve got to vote and go to the conventions, and I appreciate your vote.”
KXII-TV has extended invitations to Barack Obama, John McCain, and Mike Huckabee to join us to discuss the issues. We will try to interview all those candidates as the race continues.
