Our gardening expert Jonathan Castro was on First News AM this morning to talk about this weekend's work day event being held by the Sherman Community Garden. Nourish your body and spirit by participating in this gardening experience with a sense of community.

The Sherman Community Garden is having a work day this coming Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., on the corner of Pacific and Maxey Streets in Sherman, Texas.

• Lots of newspapers/cardboard
• Wheelbarrows
• 10 to 20 gallon buckets to distribute mulch
• Pitchforks
• Tree saws and ladders
• Bottled Water

• Go the website http://www.ShermanCommunityGarden.orgfor more information.
• The benefits are different for each person:
o Some just like to see plants grow.
o Some like the interaction with neighbors and community.
o Some like to learn and shard tips and secrets.
o Some thrive on applying the organic philosophy.
o Some support the sustainable lifestyle.
o Some just want to contribute.

The beliefs of Dr. George Diggs are to share in the community while creating a community and allowing yourself to know that in a global society. One cannot build a community while buying vegetables in the grocery store, but one sure can in a community garden.
