The Cancer survivorship Education Program is a statewide program which is designed to empower survivors of cancer to "live strong" and navigate their health care process through better communication with their health care team.

This program is funded by the Lance Armstrong Foundation and we use their materials as a tool for cancer survivors to communicate with their physicians.
OKAHEC located at OSU Center for Health Sciences is the first organization in Oklahoma to receive this type of grant from the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

We also encourage health care professionals to improve delivery of services and increase awareness of issues faced by cancer survivors by using the communication tools provided by the
AHEC team..

The unique part of this program is that at the end of three years we will have a sustainable network that will continue to educate cancer survivors in rural Oklahoma.
