Gainesville ISD is hoping to raise money for Native American Students through their Powwow Benefit.
The powwow is scheduled for this Saturday, March 6th and will take place in the Gainesville High School Gymnasium located at 2201 South I-35. Admission is free. The day will begin with Gourd Dancing at 11:00 followed by Grand Entry at 1:00.
The purpose of the day is to raise scholarship funding for the Native American students of Gainesville ISD. Other school organizations are taking this opportunity to raise scholarship funding for their groups as well. Therefore the event will provide scholarship funding opportunities for a diverse group of students. Native American food, crafts, jewelry, dance exhibitions and dance competitions will all be part of the day.
For more information or to sponsor a dance please contact Terry Ashby at 940-665-4062. Donations to the general scholarship fund are also welcomed.
