Cooking with Karel Anne: Presto Pesto

A versatile recipe that can change flavors so easily! You can use almonds or Pecans and this recipe can be modified to use cilantro, 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and add the green tops of green onions for an Asian flavor pesto. Enjoy!

Presto Pesto
Serving Size : 16

1 1/2 cups basil leaves -- torn and tough stems removed

3/4 cup pine nuts -- toasted

1 clove garlic

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 cup olive oil

1. Place all ingredients except oil in a blender or food processor. Pulse on and off until

chopped.

2. Slowly add the oil in a steady stream. Continue to mix until smooth.

3. Sauce can be refrigerated or frozen. Makes approximately one cup.
