Cooking with Karel Anne: Texas love filled French Toast

It's time to help the kids fix breakfast in bed for Mom! This recipe has tasks for each age level, and of course, everyone loves using the can whipped cream!!

Texas love filled French Toast

Serving Size : 4
8 slices Texas Toast -- dried overnight, or barely toasted
3 Tablespoons butter
1 cup milk, 1% lowfat
1 egg
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup flour
1 cup blueberries
1/2 cup whipped cream, pressurized

1. Using a large cookie cutter or pancake form, cut toast into heart shapes. Dry in a 200F oven for 10 minutes, or allow to sit out overnight.

2. Whisk together remaining ingredients, except flour into a medium bowl. Slowly add the flour to make a smooth batter. Pour into a large shallow dish.

3. Soak 2 pieces of toasted bread for about 30 seconds on each side. Place on heated griddle and cook until golden brown, about two minutes per side.

4. Draw the outside pattern of the toast by spraying the whipped topping on the edge.
Fill with blueberries. Top with second piece, and repeat, heaping the blueberries in the center.
