12 Devils Food Cupcakes (Just use box recipe or your favorite chocolate cupcake recipe)
½ cup vanilla frosting
½ cup chocolate frosting
1 cup dark chocolate frosting
Black food coloring (available at baking supplies store)
1 can chocolate frosting
Fruit by the Foot
8 M&M’s orange, yellow, brown, and green
Spoon the vanilla frosting into Ziploc bag, pressing out excess air. Using black food coloring tint dark chocolate, spoon black frosting in half of Ziploc bag; in the other half spoon the chocolate frosting, pressing out air and sealing. For mouths and ears use a large marshmallow and cut out a large V from one of the flats sides. Use the other flat side and a dap of icing to stick to the cupcake. Use the cut out and cut it in half and another small dap to place in top corners of cupcake. Cut out the fruit by the foot to fit in the mouth cut out of the marshmallow.
Cut 1/8 inch corner of ½ chocolate and black frosting bag, for hair dap and pull the frosting around the whole cupcake to make then hair-like streams. Continue until completely covered including around mouths and ears. Cut tiny corner of vanilla frosting and use same technique to make teeth around the mouth. Cut M&M’s in half and place for eyes and nose.
Jack o’ Lantern:
12 Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes (recipe follows)
1 can vanilla frosting
Orange food coloring
Yellow starburst candy
Tootsie Rolls Candy
6 Pretzel twist (cut in half)
1 box French Vanilla cupcake mix
1 cup canned pumpkin
¾ cup buttermilk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
Follow direction on box, combining all ingredients on list.
Mix vanilla frosting and food coloring until desired shade of orange. For a darker color you can add powdered sugar to your frosting. Spoon frosting in Ziploc bag and cut ¼ inch corner from bag and pipe overlapping lines until the cupcake is covered. Using a rolling pin roll out softened Starburst and Tootsie Rolls, cut in to eye and mouth shapes for the Jack o’ Lantern. Place Starburst on top of tootsie rolls and place on frosting, stick the half pretzel in to the top of the cupcake for a pumpkin stem.
