You're invited to feel the spirit of the Christmas season with a look of Denison's rich spiritual history. The Grayson County Historical Commission, along with Denison Main Street, is sponsoring a tour of historic churches in Denison on December 3, 2011 from 11-3. Donna Dow and Helen Johnson join us to talk about 2 other big events happening in Denison, as well.

St. Patrick's, First Christian, Waples Methodist, St. Luke's, and First Presbyterian are all participating. The tour is free to the public and transportation is being provided from the churches. Church buses and a TAPS bus will provide a continual loop of transportation between each church. You can ride to Heritage Park at Burnett & Main for downtown shopping and dining.

Also happening is the Small Business Saturday on November 26th in downtown Denison. Stores will be open until 8pm for Shopping Under the Stars. 4 new stores have open downtown, so be sure to come and check out what local businesses have to offer for gifts this holiday season.

And the Texas Historical Commission offers free World War II Oral History Training on December 7th from 9am-noon. The workshop is one of a series taking place across the state, which highlights the real places telling the real stories of Texas' involvement in the war effort.

More information on all of these events can be found at www.cityofdenison.com.
