Ardmore, OK – The Goddard Center will host Touch-a-Truck on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This family friendly event is free and open to the public. There will be a no horns hour from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for very young and sensitive children. Kids of all ages are invited to come see, touch, explore, and honk the horns of trucks and vehicles of all sizes! Come meet the people who build, protect, and serve our communities as the respective professionals explain their equipment and discuss their jobs.
There will be a large variety of vehicles for kids to explore including vehicles from the Ardmore Freightliner, Ardmore Peterbuilt, Ardmore Police Department, Asphalt Express, Big “T” Ice Cream, Chickasaw Nation Lighthorse Police, C.L. Boyd Company, Day Concrete, Dot Foods, Joe Broaden, MHC Kenworth, OG+E, Oklahoma Army National Guard, Roger Wilkins Sand, Gravel & Dozer Service, Science Matters Mobile Museum, Shane’s Wrecker Service, Sport Trucking, United States Air Force, United States Marine Corps, United States Navy, and Volvo Rental.
“All proceeds raised from this fundraiser will go to help support our Art Education Outreach Programs including our work with area schools,” states Goddard Center Director Leila Lenore. Families are encouraged to eat lunch at the event where grilled hot dogs, soda pop, water, and chips will be sold to raise money for Art Education programming with the schools.
Visitors can also tour the Goddard Center art galleries, which will feature the Annual All Schools Elementary Exhibit, featuring the artwork of young aspiring artists throughout southern Oklahoma. There will also be an Outside Art Market featuring affordable art by professional local artists.
