TOM MILLER joined KXII-TV in September of 1988. He can be seen Monday through Friday on First News AM at 5:25 a.m. to 7 a.m., and on First News at Noon. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Meteorology and a minor in Geography. His on-air work has earned the American Meteorological Society's AMS Seal of Approval.
During his tenure at KXII, Tom and the weather team became the first broadcast meteorologists to use a local Doppler radar on air.
Tom is happily married. He and his lovely wife are proud parents of two beautiful teenage girls. When Tom is not forecasting the weather, he enjoys spending time with his family.
RITA KOTEY came to KXII-TV as a reporter in October 2008. Since then she has joined the First News AM team with Abby Powell and Tom Miller. She says waking up bright and early every morning to bring the news that matters to you is a true joy!
Rita comes to Texoma from Huntsville, Alabama. She spent her collegiate years at Tennessee State University in Nashville. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Speech Communications and Theatre.
Rita is no stranger to news operations across the country. She has worked and interned for WSMV in Nashville, Tennessee, WEIU-TV in Charleston, Illinois, and WAFF48 News in Huntsville, Alabama.
Rita is a true lover of the stage! Watching and performing musicals and plays is one of her favorite pastimes. She also enjoys music, spoken word, and spending time at church.
KYLIE DIXON joined the KXII News Team in January of 2012 as a reporter. In August 2012, she was promoted to co-anchor of First News AM.
She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in political science. At OSU, Kylie was involved in many campus organizations, most actively with Kappa Delta Sorority. She anchored OSU's "Sea of Orange" Homecoming Parade and co-hosted a weekly campus radio show. She interned at KWTV-9, the CBS affiliate in Oklahoma City and also served as a student correspondent for the station.
Kylie hails from a small town in northwest Oklahoma, where her family owns a dog biscuit factory. Though she shares their passion for the OSU Cowboys, she decided on a career outside the family business after being on ABC-Family's teen reality show "Switched" at age 15. The excitement of television and a keen interest in current events led Kylie to pursue a broadcasting career.
In her spare time, Kylie enjoys attending sporting events and participating in outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing with her dad. Some of her other favorite things to do are exercising, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
CHRISTINE NICHOLSON joined KXII in June 2012 as a morning reporter out of the Sherman newsroom. She’s an enthusiastic multi-media journalist thrilled to be a part of the KXII family! Christine enjoys bringing you the latest Texoma news each morning on First News AM as well as "Moms Everyday" reports.
Although she moved to Sherman after many years in Dallas-Fort Worth, she's excited to call Texoma home! While in DFW, Christine worked and interned for over two years at NBC5-KXAS, CBS11-KTVT and KTXA21. Prior to that, her ten years of freelance experience include her work at FOX4-KDFW and ABC8-WFAA.
Christine graduated summa cum laude from UT Arlington with a degree in broadcast communication. As a UTA television news reporter, radio news director and contributing newspaper editor, she was recognized with several awards including 1st and 2nd place in a National Broadcasting Society competition. Christine also served as President of UTA’s Association for Women in Communication where she enjoyed volunteering for the American Cancer Society and local charities. She’s still an active member of various broadcast societies and charitable organizations.
Born in her mother’s home country of Thailand, Christine grew up in an Air Force family of six all over the world. She credits God, her family and her upbringing for her appreciation of people from all walks of life. In her free time, Christine enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband, Noel, and their two Boxers. She loves camping, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, volunteering, running in benefit races and meeting with her church group.
