Vickie White from the Women's Gift Exchange joins us in the studio to tell us about the one year birthday celebration of the store, coming up on September 22nd.
The Women's Gift Exchange is a gift shop located in downtown Sherman in Kelly Square. All of the profits benefit Grayson County Charities.
The Women's Gift Exchange features unique gift items in all price ranges. Of special interest are the many products made by Texomaland residents such as fudge by Suzanne Martin, herbal tea from Howe, salsa from Gainesville, lotions by Hannah Brinker, and hand-made jewelry by Vicki LaPlant.
The Women's Gift Exchange is a member of the National Federation of Women's Exchanges, a consortium of gift shops initially established to provide an outlet for women to sell their handcrafted goods. The founding of the first Women's Exchange in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1832 marked the beginning of what is now the oldest continuously operating woman's movement in the country.
The store is located at:
115 S Travis St
Please call them at 903-892-8481. They are looking forward to seeing you at the birthday party on September 22nd. Remember, this a store that donates everything back to our community, so please stop by today!
