With the cold weather almost here to stay, what better than a nice, warm bowl of chili to warm up? Or how about many diiferent chilis to choose from!
Saturday, November 5th, as part of the Grand Street Fall Festival, the 2nd Annual Firefighters Chili Cook-off will be held. The proceeds help North texas volunteer fire departments buy what they need to save lives and property.
Anyone can enter the contest if they feel their chili is the best. Entry is just $20. You can register by going to the website:

1 People's Choice Grand Award
As well, for $5, anyone can have a sampling of every chili in the contest.
The Festival is free and will include many fun events. Kids can meet firefighters and shops will be open in the downtown area. An auction will be held at 5:30 and a bluegrass concert will be held nearby at 7:00. There will also be a model contest and a raffle for things like an iPad2 and a Rugers 10/.22 rifle. Door prizes will also be given.
