The Second Annual Colton's Main Street Run

Registration is now open for the second annual Colton's Main Street Run to be held on October 22nd at 9am. The Run is held in memory of Colton Sherrill, son of Trace and Dena Sherrill. The 10-year old athlete and Durant Main Street volunteer passed away three years ago while playing basketball from an unknown heart defect.

All proceeds will benefit the Colton Sherrill Memorial Fund and Durant Main Street for community projects, purchase of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) for schools and sporting venues, and CPR/AED Certification training for all Bryan County teachers, community personnel, coaches umpires and referees.

The 2010 run was a great success! They were able to purchase five AED's, provide CPR/AED Certification training to 174 teachers and support staff for four Durant schools, and give $1,000 scholarships to three local high school graduates.
