Safe Family Report: 4th of July Fireworks Safety
Reporter: Abby Dunn

07-04-06 - It's one of the most celebrated holidays in the country; but the 4th of July could also be one of the most dangerous for you and your family, if you're not careful.

Fireworks that light up the night sky in glorious colors can cause a tragic accident if they go off too close to a person. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says every year more than 7,000 people go to the emergency room after a fireworks-related accident.

Here are some tips on how to avoid being injured in a fireworks-related accident:
- Never give to children
- Be sure
- Don't relight
- Bucket of water

Your best bet is to leave the fireworks to the professionals. All you have to do is watch!
