9-7-04 - An alternative to E-Bay is now available to local shoppers in the Texoma area. The CityWideAuction.com network has on-line shopping sites available exclusively to people who live in areas like Sherman and Ardmore.
The idea behind the websites is to give shoppers access to an on-line store like E-Bay, but allow them to deal only with people in their area.
Sherman’s website, www.shermanauction.com, is only for people who live within 25 miles of Sherman. Site sponsors hope it reduces fraud.
They charge a small fee to place an ad – usually $1 per week.
