GAINESVILLE, TX - Gainesville Police have arrested the teenager suspected of assaulting one of their officers Sunday night. Officers say the 16-year-old boy was taken into custody around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The arrest stems from an incident Sunday night when an officer was responding to a noise complaint at 315 Taylor Street around 6 o'clock when police say he was attacked by at least one person. Police say the teen did injure the officer and tried to steal his weapon.

The teen is charged assault of public servant, which is a 3rd degree felony.
