SHERMAN, TX - A Pottsboro man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault on a public servant.

The Grayson County District Attorney's office says they reached a plea agreement with 29-year-old Randy Allen Thomas last month, and Thomas was sentenced to 10 years in prison.

On January 27th officials say Thomas pointed a gun at authorities at a home in Pottsboro. Thomas didn't fire the gun, but a Grayson County Sheriff's Deputy responded by shooting Thomas in the upper leg.

Thomas was originally charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, but reached a plea deal with the DA's office for a single count.

He'll be eligible for parole in 5 years.
