SHERMAN, TX - After Oklahoma had their annual sales tax holiday two weeks ago, tax free weekend is now underway in Texas.

Starting Friday until 11:59 Sunday night, shoppers can purchase back-to-school items like clothing and shoes under $100, and backpacks, without having to pay state or local sales taxes.

This is the fourth year since Texas changed its sales tax holiday from the first to the third weekend in August.

School starts for many North Texas school districts on Monday.
