9-12-04- The forecast may be working in their favor, but Floridians aren't ready to celebrate just yet. Officials are warning parts of the state to remain ready, even though Hurricane Ivan is no longer on course to deal a direct blow to the Florida Keys.
The current forecast track could take Ivan ashore on the Panhandle or Florida's west coast.
Nonetheless, an evacuation order remains in place for the Keys.
Governor Jeb Bush says only half of the residents there actually
obeyed the order -- and more have been trickling home as Ivan's
course pushes it further away.
But forecasters say the Keys aren't out of the woods yet. They say a slight deviation could pull Ivan right back into the neighborhood.
