OKLAHOMA -- Tuesday marks the run-off for several primaries along with a coupld other elections in Oklahoma. The polls will be open from 7AM - 7PM.
The only statewide race on the ballot is a Republican contest for the state's Insurance Commissioner. Former Insurance Commissioner John Crawford, 78, of Oklahoma City is facing off against John Doak, 47, a former insurance agent and executive from Tulsa. The winner will meet Democratic incumbent Kim Holland in the general election.
There are a number of local races.
Commissioner run-offs will be in Bryan, Jefferson, Love, Pontotoc and Pushmataha counties.
Bryan County voters will also be deciding the run-off on the Democratic side for the District 21 State Representative - Jerry Tomlinson is facing off against Nathan Williams.
Love County voters will also be casting their ballots on a Thackerville Schools bond election.
There's also a County Treasure face-off on the democrat side in Choctaw County.
And in Ada residents will decide whether to extend a penny sales tax to fund capital improvements.
Ada public information officer Mark Bratcher says if approved, the funds from the extension would be spread out over five phases. The construction of a new police, 911 and fire station would be included in the first phase.
And other projects like building a sports complex and revamping Ada's main street would come later.
If approved, the new tax would go into effect on September 1st.
We'll have election results Tuesday on First News at 10.
