9-13-04 – Starting October 1st, Sherman police officers will begin enforcing a city ordinance designed to stop false alarms. Police will begin fining those responsible between $50 and $100 for false home alarms.
Authorities say they responded to more than 2,000 false alarms last year; wasting time and resources.
Fines will be waived for the first 60 days of a newly installed alarm system.
