DALLAS (AP) - Investigators with the Texas Department of Safety
are searching for a registered sex offender who left a halfway
house and cut off a 24-hour tracking device he is required to wear.

Now a $1,000 reward is being offered for info leading to his arrest.

Authorities say 33-year-old Billy Twayne Gibson fled early Saturday from the Wayback House in Dallas.

Authorities issued an arrest warrant for failure to comply with civil commitment requirements, a third-degree felony.

He has a criminal history involving aggravated sexual assault, aggravated robbery, unlawful carrying of a weapon and compelling prostitution by force or threat.

The DPS describes Gibson as 6'3", weighing 250 pounds with
tattoos on both arms.

He's considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about Gibson’s whereabouts who wants to collect the reward can call or text—without giving their name—by either calling 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or sending a text by texting the letters DPS—followed by your tip—to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
