9-14-04 - A controversial flyer being handed out in Fannin County has drawn the attention of a murder victim’s family, and they aren’t happy. The family of Jennifer Harris, murdered in May of 2002, says the flyer’s publisher is exploiting her death for the sake of a political agenda.

At first glance, the flyer looks like any political attack in this election year, alleging corruption in the Fannin County courthouse. But on the back, the flyer features a picture of Jennifer, asking if someone knows who killed her. Jennifer’s family says it alludes to a connection between her death and a cover-up of her murder. They say that could not be farther from the truth.

A man named Archie Brown is behind the flyer. Jennifer's father wrote a letter to the editor of the Leonard Graphic last week titled "avoid misinformed crusaders". He urged citizens of Fannin County to disregard the ramblings of Brown. He says Brown has no regard for his daughter or his family.

First News tried to reach Brown, but our phone calls were not returned.
