DENISON TX--Classes were canceled at B McDaniel Middle School in Denison today, after a freak accident.

Teachers arrived around 6 am, to find they'd also have the day off.
Power was also knocked out to Mayes Elementary for a short time, but was restored in time for classes.

Authorities say a city sanitation truck became tangled up in several power lines near the intersection of Crawford and Lillis.
Witnesses report seeing the truck's raised arm getting stuck, then colliding with several utility lines, causing the blackout at the schools.

The Denison Fire Department says power was restored to B McDaniel just after 1 this afternoon. OnCor energy will need to replace two damaged poles, and A-T and T will replace one.

Denison school superintendent Dr. Henry Scott says school will be back in session tomorrow
