Bayou Bandit arrested in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO - A man federal authorities say is the serial bank robber who hit three Texoma banks this summer was caught this morning in San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO - A man federal authorities say is the serial bank robber who hit three Texoma banks this summer was caught this morning in San Antonio.
The FBI says the man they dubbed the Bayou Bandit, 46-year-old Douglas Edward Ford, was arrested without incident around 10:30 a.m. at his home in San Antonio.
Investigators say it was the outdoor billboards, like the one in Sherman near the U.S. 75/U.S. 82 intersection, that led them to Ford.
The FBI says Ford robbed banks in Pauls Valley, Ardmore., and then Marietta in a span of seven days in late June. He is also wanted for bank robberies in New Mexico, Arkansas, Mississippi, and four robberies this spring in Louisiana, where the feds say he started his spree.
Ford will appear before a federal judge today before he's turned over to the U.S. Marshals.
