Two upper level waves will interact with a warm and very moist air mass to generate thunderstorms through Saturday. Lightning and torrential rainfall that could cause flash flooding are the primary threats...with a secondary threat of damaging winds. Turn around, don't drown!
9-15-04 - More local volunteers are heading into the path of Hurricane Ivan. 5 volunteers from Ardmore’s Salvation Army and 15 from Grayson County’s Red Cross are being dispatched across the Gulf Coast states.
The Ardmore group loaded up vehicles with food and water Wednesday morning – enough to supply 500 people. They’re destined for Jackson, Mississippi. From there, after Ivan makes landfall, they will be dispatched to the areas hardest hit by the storm.
The Red Cross team will leave Thursday morning for Baton Rouge, with a similar mission.
