PLATTER, OK-- Homeowner James Stubblefield says he was trying to tune in to a TV station or radio signal to get an update on the weather, when he looked out the window, and saw it for himself.
"By the time I heard it and was walking past the back door it was too late, it all come down on me," Stubblefield, said.
He says he ran towards the back of his trailer, before he was temporarily trapped under a dresser, after a tornado, blew across his property.
"Whenever I got to the back door I said oh lord don't let no tornado tear my house up, and about that time...it did."
The same weather pattern that blew past Stubblefield's home, also lifted a pick-up truck and several power lines along a stretch of highway 69-75, which was shut down for nearly five and a half hours.
Bryan County Emergency Manager, James Dalton, was out in the field monitoring the movement of the severe weather via satellite.
"You've got to get in the field to know that, and we have people back at the EOC that are well qualified to do that," Dalton, said.
Dalton set up his mobile monitoring system, not far from the highway, and less than a mile from where the damage was the most visible.
"Real fast, like wind blowing, and then all of a sudden, whoosh, and it was gone," Stubblefield, said.
