Suspect in Hit and Run Death Charged

9-22-04 - ADA, Okla. (AP) A man accused of causing the death of an East Central University football player now faces a murder charge and is to make his first court appearance Wednesday.

Arraignment is Wednesday afternoon for Ammon Reich of Konawa, Oklahoma, on one count of first-degree murder and seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

He's accused of using his pickup truck to ram into the rear of another pickup near Ada, Oklahoma, early Sunday. Eighteen-year-old Joseph Tusan of Arlington, Texas, was thrown from the bed of the truck and killed. Four others were thrown from the truck and injured and two remain hospitalized.

Police have said Reich and the group argued before the incident.
