Shots Fired; 2 Injured

9-23-04 – Authorities in Bonham are investigating a shooting that injured two people Wednesday night. Police say it happened at around 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of Poplar Street. The suspect was taken into custody and he is in the Bonham City Jail.

Authorities say the man fired on people in the street. Initial reports said three were injured, police are investigating whether a third victim left the scene before help could arrive.

A 38 year old woman was hit in the leg and arm. A 32 year old woman was hit in the chest; her injury was not life-threatening.

The suspect was taken into custody and is at the Bonham City Jail; his arraignment is set for Friday.
