Sign of the Times - Stolfa's Closes

Video will be available shortly.

9-27-04 - A fixture of downtown Ardmore business for 67 years abruptly closed its doors for good this past weekend. Stolfa Brother's Hardware went out of business on Saturday – unable to compete with larger competitors any longer.

The store opened in downtown back in 1937 – John Stolfa’s business would offer everything from mule harnesses to power tools over the years. But in the end, the store couldn’t stay profitable with the times.

Members of the Stolfa family declined to speak to First News on camera - saying that closing down the store is simply too painful to talk about.
