9-28-04 – A Bryan County jury recommended a sentence of life in prison with the chance of parole for Stanley Trammel. On Friday, the same jury convicted him of killing John Duncan in May of 2003.

During the trial, authorities testified that Trammel shot Duncan after a bar fight at Hambones Bar in Cartwright. Another man was wounded.

Trammel was also convicted on one count of intent to kill and found not-guilty on two counts of felonious use of a fire arm. Prosecutors had pursued the death penalty, saying Trammel had planned the killing after leaving the bar.
