Accidental Shooting Injures Woman

10-3-04- Grayson County authorities are investigating an accidental shooting at a home in Gunter Sunday evening. A woman was pulling linens out of a closet when a loaded revolver fell to the floor, went off, and struck her in the leg.

It happened just before 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at a home on Paxton Road in Gunter.

Grayson County investigators say the 54-year-old woman was pulling linens out of a closet when a loaded revolver fell to the ground and went off. The bullet went into the woman's leg just above her knee and traveled up into her body.

She was careflighted from the scene to a Dallas Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
