10-12-04 – Close to 1,000 people attened funeral services for 15-year-old Brett Spells in Ardmore on Tuesday. Brett died early Friday morning, a day after the pickup he was riding in crashed into a tree on Plainview Road.
The 16-year-old driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries. Troopers say the teen swerved to avoid hitting a deer. Speed was not considered a factor in the wreck and both teens were wearing their seatbelts.
Services for the Plainview High School student were held at 11 a.m. at the Crystal Rock Cathedral.
School officials allowed students to attend if they had parentental permission.
