Holiday Shopping - Sooners to Spend Less?

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A new statewide poll shows about one-quarter
of Oklahomans plan to spend less on Christmas gifts this year than
last year.

Of the potential shoppers, 28 percent of those surveyed in the
Oklahoma Poll say they plan to spend less. Only 9 percent say they
plan to spend more -- a 3-to-1 margin. Another 61 percent say they
will spend about the same amount as last year while 2 percent were
undecided. The poll was taken October 14th through the 19th by
Tulsa-based Consumer Logic.
The poll included 753 registered voters and has a margin of error of
3.5 percentage points.

The poll's results indicate that respondents with lower incomes
are more likely to spend less on gifts this year than last year.
