12-1-04 - A Bryan County woman claims she was abducted, raped and beaten in broad daylight this weekend. She was discovered in the Platter Flats Recreation Area on Saturday - tied at the hands and feet.

But the woman is deaf and mute, and that could hinder the investigation.

Authorities say she was walking on 9th street in Durant on Saturday when the a car with four men and one woman inside grabbed her and took off.

The victim says they attacked her for an unknown amount of time, leaving her with lashes on the back of her head and two stab wounds to her stomach.

Durant Police and the Sheriff's department are investigating. They're hoping to find DNA evidence to help solve the crime.

If you have any information on this case please call the Durant PD 580-924-3737.
