Record Gar Pulled From Lake Texoma

12-7-04 - Another record fish has been caught on Lake Texoma. But this time it wasn't a game fish - instead, an angler reeled in an Alligator Gar that was 145lbs and 7 feet long.

Phillip Marks was fishing near Buncombe Creek on the Texas side of the lake when he caught the giant fish. Wildlife officials confirmed the fish sets a record for Texas, easily surpassing the old record of 77lbs for an Alligator Gar.
