Sunday Afternoon and Evening ... Scattered intense thunderstorms are expected, some severe. Large hail, high winds and the potential for isolated tornadoes will be the main threats. Locally heavy is rain also possible with these storms.
10-31-04- Investigators are looking into what started a fire at a downtown Durant business Saturday evening. Firefighters responded to Marci's Western Wear on Main Street just after 7 p.m and found the store in flames.
Marci's is located in the 200 block of Main Street in Durant. No one was inside the store when the fire broke out and firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to neighboring businesses.
The state fire marshal has been called in to investigate the fire and is scheduled to arrive on the scene Monday. Durant fire officials are not speculating about a cause of the fire.
