12-15-04 - Santa Claus made an early stop at a Sherman elementary school, thanks to the work of some local elves.

Employees with Wilson N Jones Medical Center and Grayson County Home Health helped deliver nearly 400 gifts to students at Fred Douglas elementary.

WNJ employees adopted students from the school’s Head Start program to purchase Christmas gifts for the children. In addition, through donated gift items, a raffle was held among the WNJ employees to raise money to be used to purchase toys for Head Start students as well as WNJ employees needing assistance for their children at Christmas.

In November TMC and WNJ jointly sponsored the Holiday Helping Hands Motorcycle Run in which community members purchased a toy for the entry fee to participate in the run. Toys as well as donations for this event were used toward the purchase of gifts for Head Start students. Grayson County Home Health participated in the run and made a donation of $1000.
