12-17-04 – An 11-year-old Pottsboro Girl received an award today for “Extraordinary Personal Action.” Roxanne Crouch was given the honor after saving a friend from drowning while on vacation at Turner Falls back in August.
The rescue happened in a creek about 15 feet deep. A 7-year-old girl was unable to reach the safety ladder, when Roxanne jumped in and pulled her to safety.
The American Red Cross presented her with the award today. An award nobody in the state of Texas has won for four years.
