11-05-04 - The former home of a Love County Sheriff burned Friday afternoon, just six months after former Sheriff Marvin Wade passed away. It happened about 15 miles outside of Marietta, just west of highway 76.
Four fire departments fought the blaze. Wade's wife and grandson still lived in the house. Only his grandson was at the house when the fire began, but he was not hurt. The fire was contained quickly. So far no cause has been determined.
