A man accused of killing a Sherman man eight years ago has pleaded guilty to federal charges.

U.S. Attorneys say Fred Lloyd Holder entered the plea on a charge of voluntary manslaughter.

Holder was originally convicted for shooting David Pickens back in September of 1999 but that conviction was later overturned.

Pickens was shot and killed in Choctaw County. Authorities say he was helping a USDA conservationist survey that land.

Holder was sentenced to credit for time served. He was also placed on three years probation.
