11-11-04 - OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Rare November tornadoes moved across parts of Oklahoma, causing property damage and power outages but no injuries.

Spotters said at least one of the tornadoes may have neared the size of a football field as it tracked north of Chandler yesterday evening.

Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Ben Springfield reported heavy damage to three houses northwest of that city.

The tornadoes moved northeast into Payne County, where at least one touched down briefly about six miles south of Cushing. Cushing Emergency Management Director Bob Noltensmeyer says trees were uprooted, but no other damage or injuries were reported.

The tornadoes began east of Oklahoma City near Jones and Luther.

Authorities reported that a tree smashed a van, a garage was damaged and trees covered some area roads, but there were no injuries.

Jones resident Bob Lawson says he saw the twister hit up on a hill, throw a tree into high wires, then touched down near his barn.

About 22-hundred Oklahoma Gas and Electric customers were without power at the height of the storms.

American Electric Power-Public Service Company of Oklahoma officials say about 260 customers lost power in Tulsa, too.

Tornado warnings also were issued for Cherokee, Muskogee and Pottawatomie counties last night but no damage or injuries were reported.
