ARDMORE, Okla. -- Carter County residents are getting ready for the upcoming flu season in a quick and easy way. The Carter County Health Department is holding a second ‘Drive-Thru Flu Shot’ event at the Ardmore Fire Department.

All those who stopped by filled out some paperwork and received the immunization, all without getting out their car.

Officials say right now is the best time to get a flu shot because Oklahoma’s season is yet to reach its peak

"People can get in and out in about six minutes, maybe even less in a drive-thru, and if you really think about parking, walking in, filling out paper work and going into the clinic and then leaving, you might be in a building for 15 minutes," Carter County Health Department administrative director Mendy Spohn says.

The drive-thru will stay open until 7 p.m. Monday at the Ardmore Fire House on Rockford.
