11-16-04 – Two girls from Lane were killed Monday night after two
semi trucks collided in Atoka County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 15-year-old Megan Hodge and
3-year-old Jolee White died after last night's accident about 12 miles west of Atoka. The two sisters were passengers in a semi truck being driven by Hodge's stepfather, 32-year-old Jody Britt White, also of Lane.
The driver of the second semi -- Marcus Eugene Maroney of
Honeygrove, Texas -- was treated and released from an area
The OHP says Maroney's headlights malfunctioned, causing him
to miss seeing a stop sign at the intersection of State Highway 109
and State Highway 3. The semi ran the stop sign and smashed into
the side of White's truck, throwing all three from the vehicle.
