11-18-04 – Dozens of employees at Texas Instruments in Sherman received pink slips this week. Tuesday, the company told 60 employees they will have to find another job.

A spokeswoman for TI says a portion of a semi-conductor line is shutting down because of a lack of growth.

She says those workers may still be offered a job within the company. Employees will also be offered a severance package.

Texas Instruments has already laid off all of its contract and temporary employees. According to the company, 1,200 people are still employed at their Sherman plant.
