New Sticker For Car Registration

1-21-05 – A new TEX-DOT program called “point of sale sticker printing” has made it’s way to Grayson County. The new program is considered a convenience for vehicle owners as well as law enforcement.

For owners, the sticker will be printed for them at the same place it is purchased. The new system also better links the car and the sticker by printing part of the VIN and license plate number on the sticker.

The state thinks it will reduce the amount of waste as well since the old stickers were pre-printed.

Just like the old stickers, the new ones are placed on the inside of the windshield.
