Chase Ends in Crash

1-24-05 – Durant Police are looking for two men who led police on a chase in a stolen pickup early Monday morning. The suspects were driving the vehicle without turning on its headlights around 12:30 a.m.

A police officer attempted to pull the vehicle over. Two people jumped out and ran; leaving the pickup in gear. The truck continued to travel a short distance before hitting a utility pole in the 200 block of Southeast Fifth Street.

Investigators later discovered the truck was stolen from Gene’s tire repair shop late Sunday night.

Both suspects are still at large.
