2-5-05- A semi truck flipped over on I-35 in Gainesville Saturday afternoon. Investigators believe the driver was going too fast when he lost control of the truck. He was taken to the hospital with only minor injuries.
Gainesville police were called to the scene at I-35 and the eastbound exit for Highway 82 around 2:00 p.m. Saturday. The semi truck, which was carrying items to be delivered to a Gainesville grocery store, was resting on its side next to the interstate.
No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured. It took crews hours to flip the truck over and the eastbound exit for Highway 82 was shut down much of the afternoon.
Investigators say there is no official cause of the accident, but they believe speed might have played a factor.
