Election Results

2-5-05- Voters in Van Alstyne approved propositions that will allow the sale of alcohol in the city limits. The measures passed by an overwhelming 2 to 1 margin.

Voters in Collin County also voted on the wet/ dry issue. In Anna, they narrowly passed two propositions that will allow the sale of beer, wine, and liquor, as well as the sale of alcohol in restaurants.

But voters in Melissa, Texas decided not to go wet. A proposition to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages for off-premisis comsumption narrowly failed.

Supporters say Saturday's vote will shape economic development for the cities in the future, but opponents say it will lower moral standards.

In Denison, voters approved a $6.3 million bond for road maintenance and improvements. The money will be spread out for improvements over the next 20 years.
